Which is the best one in kitchen - Exhaust fan or chimney?

No matter if it is Modular kitchen or Normal kitchen, we don't like to work in polluted atmosphere. Our vision is to expel the unwanted smoke and steam out of the kitchen. we have to understand best techniques to do this. normally in our locality,

·         We use window as ventilation source

·         We use exhaust Fan to expel this steam and smoke.

·         We use kitchen chimneys or hoots to suck and through the steam and smoke out.

We can compare The chimneys and exhaust fan here. Before that we have to understand the functionality of both appliances.

1.     Exhaust fan:

             When we consider exhaust , It’s just sucks and throw away the fumes smoke steam etc. From the kitchen room to outside of kitchen. It provides Relief to the person inside the kitchen from smoke. But as it through the smoke as such it make suffocation to the beings outside of the kitchen. Normally exhaust fans place about 7 feet height. So before it sucks some smoke will spread into the kitchen.

2.     kitchen chimney:

        kitchen chimneys works in 3 ways.

·         Suction:

Chimney sucks the steam, smoke, heat directly from the cooking area since it placed straight above the hob.

·         Filtration:

Mesh in the chimney filters the dust particles, oil fumes, etc.

·         Exhaust:

Propellers in the Chimney pushes away the balance steam and smoke through duct.

                                Since the smoke is filtered, no suffocation in the outer side of kitchen. Exhaust expel through a duct so smoke thrown to a long distance.

Conclution:

1.       Exhaust fan used to send the air out side of the room, but Chimney fixed above stove to suck fumes evaporate on cooking.

2.       Before Exhaust fan sucks smoke may spread around, Chimney sucks directly above cooking table no smoke will spread.

3.       Fan pushes the smoke just outside of kitchen so it can suffocate others outside, Chimney pushes the smoke through a long duct it will not suffocate others.

4.       The kitchen walls seenwith oil and smoke sedimentation when fan fixed, there will be no such marks or sedimentation while Chimney installed.

 

Finally Chimney is the best appliance in the kitchen.
